Come February 12, Kirsten Storms will officially reprise her role as Maxie Jones on General Hospital. And while fans are beyond excited to see her back on screen, there’s another reason everyone’s buzzing.
Storms just debuted a fresh new look, and it’s getting plenty of love.
Taking to Instagram on January 25, Storms shared a photo showing off her new hair color, bangs, and haircut. The style is a short, layered blonde cut with soft bangs grazing her forehead.
The wispy, feathered fringe frames her eyes beautifully and gives the whole look an easy, modern vibe.
Kirsten Storms Debuts New Hair
In her caption, Storms gave a shoutout to General Hospital makeup artist Abraham Rivera, writing, “First, @abrahamjosephr.. I did not have to color correct (or call you for an emergency color correction appt).”
She went on to explain that she finally managed to lighten her hair herself using Sally Beauty products, adding, “Not sure why (I know why…) but since the ‘green hair disaster’ during Covid, I’ve needed to figure out how to conquer the kitchen beautician skills.”
She also joked, “Still won’t attempt to do acrylic nails again. Ever. I’m holding this win in my heart for a little bit.”
Fans React
Fans quickly flooded the comments with praise. One wrote, “Love your haircut! Gorgeous! Can’t wait to see you back on GH.”
Another added, “Absolutely beautiful! SO looking forward to your return to GH!” A former colorist even chimed in with, “I can confirm, you killed it.”
Of course, this isn’t the first time Storms has switched up her hair. Over the years, fans have seen her try different cuts and colors, many of which have become signature looks along the way.
Storms stepped away from the show in 2025 for health reasons and to move from Los Angeles to Nashville. She’s since returned to the General Hospital set and teased her comeback on social media. Sh wrote, “Boom. 2026 already… that was fast. Back at work! Seriously missing my BugBug though. California doesn’t feel right without her here.”
The last time viewers saw Maxie, she was hospitalized after a medical emergency involving a Deception product. The character was moved to Boston, but with Storms’ return just weeks away, it’s safe to assume Maxie will wake from her coma and be pulled right back into the drama in Port Charles.
So what do you think of Kirsten Storms’ new look? Is Maxie back and better than ever?
