General Hospital’s Kirsten Storms, who plays Maxie Jones, is no longer under contract with the ABC soap, and CTS has all the details below.
Key Takeaways
- Kirsten Storms is now on recurring status on General Hospital
- Maxie is not leaving, but may appear less frequently
- Fans have noticed her reduced screen time recently
- No official explanation has been given for the change
- Recurring roles can still mean strong story presence
Wait … What?
As per the closing credits of General Hospital’s Friday, April 3 episode, Kirsten Storms is no longer under contract with the show.
In addition, she was part of the intro that displays all the character portraits, either. As it seems, less than two months after the actress returned to the show, Storms is officially on recurring status with the daytime drama.
In fact, right after Maxie woke up from her coma, other than a welcome home party, where she later let Fake Nathan West, a.k.a. Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey), know that she had chosen Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) to be with, viewers haven’t seen much of Maxie recently.
In addition, Storms has been quiet on her social media and hasn’t posted anything since she believed her Instagram was hacked back in February of this year.\
What This All Means
It’s important to note that no information has been released about Storms’ recurring status by either General Hospital or the actress.
With that said, a recurring status doesn’t mean Storms has left the show, nor does it mean that fans should be concerned about Maxie’s leaving the land of Port Charles anytime soon.
It just means that she won’t be a regular player in the daytime drama, and her character will appear when the storyline dictates.
Still, many actors and actresses on GH, and other soap operas for that matter, have recurring status and are seen quite frequently on the canvas.
One fine example of this is Maxie’s stepbrother, Cody Bell, played by Josh Kelly.
Kelly was taken off contract in June 2025, yet has a prominent role on General Hospital. In fact, Cody has a sizzling romance with Molly Lansing-Davis (Kirsten Vagnos), so Storms recurring status may not affect Storms’ storyline that much. Only time will tell.
