With Sister Wives currently airing its 20th season, there has been a lot to unpack in terms of the Brown family. The patriarch of the family, Kody, hasn’t been able to hold on to the plural family plan.

But in the process, she uses some specific words that fans couldn’t help but catch on to. While Kody has been on his self-dubbed apology tour, things haven’t gone as planned.
Meanwhile, Robyn, who was not so sure about the whole thing, called him “emotionally unsafe” when he came back.
But what does she really mean by her statement, and how does Kody respond to it? Is this moment a step toward healing or another sign of deeper cracks? Keep reading to know more.

Sister Wives: Kody Started Apologizing To His Ex-Wives While Robyn Was Skeptical
Fans have seen a change in Kody ever since his sister wives left him. Janelle, Christine, and Meri all decided to step away from their marriages to him starting in 2021.
This left only Robyn and Kody in a monogamous relationship. After each separation, Kody became more reflective of his relationships and decided to apologize to each of his ex-wives. Robyn was the first person he opened up to about his plans.
As he told this plan to Robyn, she wasn’t impressed by it. She later said in a confessional that she tried to support Kody but knew that he often didn’t complete what he set out to do.
Later, Christine and Janelle accepted the apologies, but Robyn became emotional, considering whether one of the wives would return to the Brown family.
Sister Wives: Robyn Confronts Kody Over Emotional Safety
In the latest Sister Wives teaser, which was released by US Weekly, Robyn had a conversation with Kody after his apology tour. She tells Kody that he can be “emotionally unsafe,” which she pulled away from.
This made Kody realize that he may have neglected Robyn while thinking about just apologizing to his ex-wives.

He reflects on his habit of self-criticism and acknowledges that since he was being distant, it affected their relationship. Robyn explained that she decided to step back when she felt threatened. She also felt the issue came from a lack of communication on Kody’s part.
As they continued talking, Kody thanked Robyn for standing by him. Kody says that despite all the developments in his life, it was Robyn who was loyal to him.
Even though he apologized to everyone else, he didn’t even think about Robyn, who was right there with him during thick and thin. In a confessional, Kody revealed that Robyn was the one who endured his anger and emotional issues. Robyn later shares that seeing Kody take accountability brought her peace as well.
