Currently, Kirsten Storms is only allowed to see her child under supervision, while the court is expected to review the validity of the restraining order in the near future.
The General Hospital star is facing legal trouble after her ex-husband, Brandon Barash, filed for an emergency restraining order.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the request was granted by a judge after Barash claimed that his ex-wife was experiencing a “mental health crisis,” raising concerns about the safety of their 12-year-old daughter.
In his filing, Barash stated that after their 2016 divorce, both moved separately to Tennessee. However, he alleged that Storms had ongoing housing instability, including facing eviction from a landlord. He claimed she did not have a stable residence between September 2024 and June 2025.
Barash also alleged that Storms frequently changed hotels because she believed someone was following her and their daughter. Additionally, he stated that she owed him $5,000—money he had lent her to prevent her car from being repossessed.
Notably, Barash claimed that in May 2025, Storms admitted to experiencing hallucinations and paranoia, and even said she did not feel capable of caring for their child during her scheduled custody time. Following this, she was reportedly hospitalized and placed under psychiatric observation for a short period.
Barash further cited a friend of Storms, who alleged that she showed signs of misusing Adderall and possibly other substances. He claimed that she had episodes of losing control, becoming agitated, and hearing sounds that were not real.
Based on these concerns, Barash requested that the court require Storms to undergo a mental health evaluation.
At present, Storms is only permitted supervised visitation with her daughter, and the court is expected to reassess the restraining order in the near future.
Storms and Barash met on the set of General Hospital, married in 2013, and welcomed their daughter in 2014 before divorcing two years later. Notably, last July, Storms announced she would take an extended break from acting for brain surgery and only returned in February after a six-month absence.
