Sister Wives star Meri Brown opened up about the catfishing scheme that she fell prey to over a decade ago. While still with her husband, Kody Brown, she believes Robyn Brown played a part in aggravating the situation. She also claimed she felt “betrayed” by Robyn Brown.
Sister Wives star Meri Brown says she feels ‘betrayed by Robyn’
The Sister Wives star, Meri Brown, who is now divorced from Kody Brown, was the victim of a catfishing scheme. This was while in a relationship with her ex-husband. She spoke about this in the TLC series’ One-on-One special on February 1, 2026.
“I feel betrayed by Robyn,” Meri Brown said (via E! News), “Robyn would come over and talk to me about it and like, ‘What’s going on, what’s going on?’ I would tell her what’s going on.
But then other stuff would happen, and other stories would be out there, and other communications, supposedly, would happen.”
Back in 2015, Meri struck up an online romance with a man she believed was named Sam. She asserted that whenever she would have a private conversation with Robyn, the catfisher would know about it.
“There was a huge lack of trust there,” she explained, “I don’t believe that she did it intentionally to hurt me.
I think she did it to try to help the situation, but she kept making it worse and kept making it worse by sharing the information.”
It seems that a friend of Robyn had been in communication with the catfisher. This was perhaps how the conversations were getting leaked.
Robyn, meanwhile, has denied the claims by Meri. “I’ve had her freaking back,” she said, “I was sitting there watching everything that was happening, and I was worried about her.”
Robyn is still married to Kody Brown. Kody has also split from Janelle Brown and Christine Brown, maintaining a monogamous relationship with Robyn.
