General Hospital 2026 Preview: A Devastating Twist, a Shocking Turn and — Yikes! — the Death of [Spoiler]?
No matter how many times the denizens of Port Charles wished one another a happy New Year, they ain’t gonna get one. On the contrary, 2026 on General Hospital threatens to be even more upsetting than 2025 — and for one character, potentially fatal!
Welcome Back, Maxie!
As Kirsten Storms has already teased, Maxie will be coming out of her coma. But she may wish she’d slept in a bit longer, as she’s in for a double whammy.
Not only is “late” husband Nathan among the living once again, but he’s looking too cozy with her bestie Lulu to miss. In fact, co-headwriters Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten tell TV Insider that the duo wind up “in a surprising clinch.”
Is It Curtains for Valentin?
Maxie’s “nap” may seem like nothing compared to the one Valentin could be about to take. Though he just bid Charlotte adieu and told Carly that he had to skedaddle (read the recap here), his storyline is anything but over — for now, anyway.
As he and Carly continue to conspire against Brennan, Valentin’s “bond with Charlotte may be the death of him,” the scribes warn.
Are Chase and Brook Lynn Breaking Up?
In other developments, the honeymoon appears to be over for Brook Lynn and Chase — and maybe even their whole marriage, too.
He’s gone so far out of a limb for ex-wife Willow that the branch is threatening to snap. Now his and his spouse’s hopes of growing their family seem to be fading fast.
As Korte and Van Etten put it, “they can’t make a home for anyone if they can’t make a home together.”
Around the Canvas
Though we’ll finally find out once and for all who shot Drew, the outcome of Willow’s trial “will reverberate for years to come,” the writers say. Sonny will attempt to weaponize both Lucy and Ava against Sidwell. While putting off the paternity test Curtis wants, Portia will do her damnedest to mend fences with Trina.
And while things heat up between Jason and Britt, we’ll be getting chills just thinking about Anna’s attempt to escape from Wyndemere — and the “traumatic” twist that results when Emma, Mac and Felicia try to ride in like the cavalry.
